Weekend Sip Tip

Alcohol and academic performance don’t exactly go hand in hand. Research shows that alcohol negatively affects academic performance. This weekend represents two very important occurrences for Hopkins students: St. Patrick’s Day celebrations and TIME to study for midterms. Both are right around the corner, and this weekend Baltimore has plenty to offer students. With mid terms coming up, why enjoy your Saturday afternoon basking in a hangover when you could enjoy all of the activities going on right around the corner while still having time to study. St. Patrick’s Day doesn’t have to be a time to drink all of the Irish whiskey that you can, especially when mid-terms are so close. So take a break from mid-term studying and enjoy one of these activities this weekend:

1. Saturday March 12th: Baltimore St. Patrick’s Day Parade (2 P.M. at Washington Monument)
2. Saturday March 12th: Portraits of Ireland (Weinberg Center for the Arts, 1P.M. & 7 P.M.)
3. Sunday, March 13th: Shamrock 5K (1:15 P.M at Charles and Franklin Streets)
4. Sunday, March 13th: An Pointin Still $10 Bangers and Mash (2323 York Road, Timonium)

For those of you who decide to drink this weekend, remember to Stop @ Buzzed. Remain in the Blue zone and get plenty of rest. Your academic achievement in the coming week will be far more beneficial to your future than drinks in an Irish tavern. Click here for more information on St. Patricks Day events in Baltimore.
